The Olender Foundation’s Advocate for Justice is often called "one of the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced." The Honorable John Lewis has dedicated his life to protecting human rights, securing civil liberties, and building what he calls "The Beloved Community" in America.

Unsung Hero
|
As recipient of this year’s Olender Foundation Unsung Hero 2006 Award, for courageously following his convictions regardless of the repercussions, and defying the laws of segregation during an odious era of American history, he was a foot soldier in the Civil Rights Movement - an Unsung Hero.

Earl H. Davis Scholarships
At the Awards, six students each from Howard University Law School and the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law were presented scholarships in memory of the late Earl H. Davis, a trial lawyer who Olender describes as a "champion of the underdog and a man of great compassion."
