Johnnie Cochran, recipient of the Olender Foundation’s first-ever Advocate for Justice Award in a triumphant moment with Jack Olender on stage at the Kennedy Center.

One of the greatest opera singers of this generation, Denyce Graves, America’s Role Model 1996   Awardee, accepts applause and “Bravas!” from the audience and Jack and Lovell Olender.

Washington Post columnist and peace advocate Colman McCarthy is presented with the Peacemaker 1996 Award from Jack and Lovell Olender.

Marcia Plater (center), holds the Generous Heart 1996 Award plaque given in memory of her late sister, Deborah Valentine, a breast cancer advocate who succumbed to the disease in 1995.  With her is Assistant Surgeon General Dr. Susan Blumenthal (left) and Zora Kramer Brown, Founder of the Breast Cancer Resource Committee.
